Simon Kjaer’s future with AC Milan remains uncertain as he is on an expiring contract and the club have put off talks, according to a journalist.

The former Sevilla and Atalanta defender has just over three months left on his current, but the discussion to extend his stay has not brought any real developments, or at least none that the media have picked up on.

As reported this morning by Nicolò Schira on his X profile, Milan have postponed the final decision regarding Kjaer’s future until May. The Dane has every intention of staying with the Rossoneri and renewing, at least for another year.

At the moment, however, the management have not yet presented any offer to the 34-year-old, so the renewal discussion is at a standstill. In the current season, Kjaer has made a total of 22 appearances across all competitions.

In the event of a failure to reach an agreement over an extension or that an offer was not made, it is almost certain that the Rossoneri would try to bring in a replacement for the experienced central defender.

Milan were linked with a number of players in that role during the January window and have been since too, which may be an indication of sorts.
