Really tall players aren't anything new in the NBA. Yao Ming was 7-foot-6. Shaquille O'Neal was 7-foot-1 and built like a Mack truck. There's a reason one of his nicknames was "The Big Diesel".
Again, out-of-this-world players are nothing new in this league, but San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama can apparently do things that are inhuman.
He shoots like Steph Curry and dribbles like Allen Iverson. That's an impressive enough combo for a 6-foot-6 guy in the league, but Wemby checks in at 7-foot-4.
Stuff like this is just not supposed to happen. Guys his size aren't supposed to have these kind of handles:

Sure, it's only preseason, but how could you not be excited for Wembanyama? Granted, it makes sense to not be all-in on the hype train if your favorite team is in the NBA's Western Conference, or if you just so happen to be sick of the fact that the Spurs have seemingly gone from David Robinson to Tim Duncan to Kawhi Leonard to this guy.
Yes, the Spurs have some ping-pong ball luck on their side, but if you're simply just a fan of hoops, Wembanyama is going to be a must-watch in his rookie year.
