After playing a significant role as the veteran presence in the clubhouse during the Diamondbacks' trip to the World Series in 2023, Evan Longoria remains a free agent heading into this season.

Longoria had signed a one-year deal with the D-backs last January and went on to play in 74 games at the age of 37.

During the postseason, the three-time All-Star demonstrated that age is just a number with some remarkable plays at third base, including diving catches that saved multiple runs in the Wild Card round.

As the 2024 season is about to commence, Longoria conveyed a heartfelt message to his former teammates on Instagram.

Alongside a picture of the D-backs celebrating after defeating the Phillies in the NLCS, he captioned, “2023 NL Champs! Run it back boys! Make new memories! I’m miss(ing) ya like hell! Make AZ proud again!”
